Irrigation Troubleshooting, Delivery and Collection Guide

Use this guide to identify the checks that normally matter before replacing irrigation equipment. Isolate electrical power and pressurised water before opening equipment. Pump, mains-voltage and complex controller faults should be handled by a suitably qualified technician.

Irrigation troubleshooting table

Symptom Likely checks Do not assume
Rotor does not reach its radius Dynamic pressure, nozzle, filter/screens, zone flow, pipe loss and radius adjustment A larger nozzle always solves low radius
Misting or fogging Excess pressure, wrong nozzle range or damaged nozzle More pressure always improves coverage
Uneven dry areas Head spacing, blocked nozzle, mixed precipitation rates, wind and pressure variation Longer run time corrects poor distribution
Valve will not open Controller output, wiring, solenoid, flow direction, isolation valve and diaphragm The controller is necessarily faulty
Valve will not close Debris, diaphragm damage, bleed screw, solenoid seating and minimum flow The whole valve must be replaced
Controller station fails Programming, sensor shutdown, wiring, output voltage and field short A Wi-Fi problem always affects conventional station output
Pump cycles or loses prime Suction leaks, source level, check valve, pressure tank/control and duty point A larger motor corrects suction-side faults
Drippers have uneven flow Filter condition, pressure regulation, line length, elevation and flushing All emitters operate uniformly at any pressure

Product specification checks

Match the exact manufacturer, product family, model, SKU or part number, inlet or thread, voltage, pressure range, flow range and compatible accessories. Read TMI product information together with the current manufacturer specification when a design decision depends on performance.

An orderable product is not necessarily physically available at the nearest branch. Stock may be held at another branch or procured after ordering. Product availability, dispatch timing and delivery charges must be confirmed from the product or order information and TMI fulfilment communication. Bulky, long, heavy or special-order goods may require a separate delivery quotation.

For an urgent requirement, contact TMI Irrigation before ordering and provide the product code, required quantity, delivery town or collection branch and required date.
